Dorothy “Binky” Daigle Wroten, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, after a long battle of Polycystic Kidney Disease.

Binky grew up in Louisiana and adored all things rooted in her Cajun culture. She loved cooking homemade meals and could make a perfect roux, pastalaya, pain perdu, étouffée, and sauce piquante, never needing a recipe to reference. She looked forward to game days to cheer on the Saints or the LSU Tigers, and throwing beads in the Spanish Town Parade with her friends.

Binky also had a special love for the water. Some of her happiest memories and calmest moments were made laying in the sun or in the sand.

She was a loving mother with a fun spirit who enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother, and she cherished every moment spent with the people she loved. She will be remembered for her enormous strength, her ability to find the best in people, her sense of humor, her generous heart, her absolute beauty, and for the love she so freely gave to those around her.

She is survived by her children: Blayne Sturges, Rhett Sturges, Derek Sturges (Elischa), and Shelby Wroten Foreman (Nathan). Grandchildren: Devin Sturges, Blayne Sturges II, Scarlett Sturges, Mazzie Sturges, Parker Sturges, and Chandler Foreman. She is also survived by many siblings, including Sheila Smith Whitfield (Louis) and Sidney “Mann” Daigle (Kathleen), as well as many beloved friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Constance “Connie” Daigle; her brother, William Earnest “Ernie” Daigle; her beloved grandmother, Dorothy Hawkins; and her grandfather, Walker R. Hawkins.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable emptiness, her family finds comfort knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is at peace. Her love, her memories, and the beautiful life she shared with those around her will live on through the generations she leaves behind.

A memorial service celebrating Binky’s life will be held in October in Orange Beach, Alabama, a place that held a special place in her heart. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
