Janie Rebecca Kemp Jones, 42, of Magee died on Oct. 11, 2026 in Mississippi Baptist Medical Center of Jackson.

We will have a memorial service in Janie’s memory at East Union Baptist Church in Magnolia on Saturday, Oct. 24. Visitation is at 12 noon, with the memorial service at 1 p.m. Bro. Wade Barnes will officiate.

She was born in March 1984 in McComb, daughter of the late Charles “Chuck” Ray Kemp and Jacquelyn “Gina” Regina Gill.

Janie is survived by her husband, James “Lucky” Jones of Monticello; her mama, Gina Gill of McComb; her stepmom, Elaine Kemp of Brandon; her sisters, Kimberly (Earnest) Phelps of McComb, Misty (David) Floyd of Summit, Wendy Gill of McComb and Theresa (Jeremy) Beeson of Wesson; her brothers, Johnny Gill (Deanna) of Magnolia, Ted Brown Jr., Kary Ellis, Steven Kemp and Chaz Ray Hill and the late Jesse Hayes; her children, Daniel White, Jonathan Varnes, Hannah Dunnaway Hankins, Jessica Brown, Hailey Brown White (Noah) and Jack Harvey; her grandchildren, Jaxx Hankins, Kaydence Boggs, Charlie Poarch White, Carolynn White, Helena White, Addiline Varnes, Ayla Varnes and the late Junior Varnes; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

We would like to say a special thanks to the numerous family and friends but especially James “Lucky” Jones, Janie King and Tarzan Kemp, Tommy and Judy Kemp, and Daniel White for everything they have done to help out.
