Ms. LaSheka Tawassa Green, age 37, of Richland, MS , passed away on September 28, 2026.

She was born on November 28, 1988 in Jackson, MS, to Mr. & Mrs. Walter and Gladys Lenora Green and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a dedicated and loving mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend who enjoyed fishing, gaming, shopping, and spending time with her love ones.

She attended Jackson Public Schools District and was a graduate of Lanier High School, Class of 2008. She was an employee of Rankin County School District where she had been working in Nutrition for the last past four years. She loved her job and found joy in providing nutritious meals to the children and her fellow colleagues.

She is survived by her children, Isaiah Green, Zariah Freeman, Janiah Freeman and Josiah Freeman; her mother Gladys Lenora Green-Taylor, her brother Anthony Wayne Thompson (Yolanda), sisters Lenora Green Johnson (Lonnie, Jr) and Antionette Nicole Daniels. She leaves her nieces Raven Thompson, Kira Thompson and Indyiah Johnson; nephews Leyton Thompson , Elijah Johnson, Ian Johnson, Nolan Thompson and Lonnie Johnson III. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Green, Jr.; brother, Walter De’murus Green; grandmothers, Pastor Gladys Mae Adams and Georgia Williams; grandfathers, Walter Green Senior and Reverend J. D. Daniel; and uncles, Pat Newton and Jesse Daniel.

A service will be held at (TBA) on October 24, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
